Vertigo Comics!

Featured Replies

Its been a long time, but what does everyone think of Vertigo Comics finally returning and with 10 titles to start no less (due to come out February)?

Which title do you look forward the most if any and why?

How do you think Vertigos return will shake the industry?

Personally I've always loved hard hitting independent books, bc they offer fresh material, perspective, craziness, and arent usually censored or politically motivated storyline to please the public. Vertigo was always hard hitting to me, and I of course loves Sandman, Hellblazer, Preacher and more. It had edge, grit, and mature themes and didnt shy away from the gore or blood. I feel like a lot was lost when Vertigo vanished, as most independent comic startups nowadays fail to ever make it to the mainstream stage and quietly go under.

Thats not to say they all fail, and there are not some good ones out there, but I dont feel any of them are "Big". I feel like DC bringing back Vertigo will be a breath of fresh air to the industry and consumers starving for new content with gritty themes, and great writing. Im looking forward to Bleeding Hearts, bc i love a good Zombie series and think it has a fresh concept and will draw in a big audience; and The Peril Of The Brutal Dark: An Ezra Cain Mystery, because everyone loves a good crime Noir story, and I dont feel like we've seen anything great since Sin City which was decades ago from 1991.

Anyways id love to here what everyone else thinks. Until Feb, cant wait!
