I created a comic management server/reader Comics Now!

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I created a comic reader mainly for me self. But then i thought it might be useful to other people and it kinda exploded in terms of features. It's got a docker image ready to go.

It's got some sort of smart nav. On manga comics it will zoom into panels/speech bubbles with a css zoom popup. On western comics it will zoom into speech bubbles with a css zoom popup. You can let the app automatically give you through a comic or you can click on a panel/speech bubble to initiate the zoom. You can also by double click, zoom into any part of the page and pan in the zoom pop up on mobile by panning using two fingers

It's pwa app meaning you can install it as a native app.

It has full offline functionality, you can download comics for offline viewing and the all seamlessly transition to offline mode if you loose connection

It syncs progress between different devices on a comic. If you read a comic book on one device and start it on another it will ask you if you want to keep your progress as is or sync with the other device.

It will automatically sync your progress when you come back online.

You can manage how you want to read a comic globally/library level/publisher level/series level or comic level.

E.g set to manga mode, continuous mode.

Set it up with cloudflare and you have user management. For non admin users you can fine tune access to comic level.

Its integrated with comictagger you can run it in the app, rename the comics based on the metadata in the app and then move them to your comics library and it sort it into folders based on the metadata. You can also in the app view low confidence matches and choose what to do. You can also search comicvine and manually fill in your comic with metadata or just edit the metadata yourself. It saves all the metadata to the comicinfo.xml

You can create/export/import reading lists

That is essentially the main bulk of the functionality.
