I don’t know how much of a hot take this is to be honest, but I think Spider-Man: Homecoming is better than The Amazing Spider-Man because of how well it captures Peter’s high school life and how grounded it keeps him while coming into his own. It truly separates him from Iron Man, and does a lot more character work for Peter than TASM does, especially given TASM’s darker, grittier tones. Still love and think both movies are great, though.
