  1. Maguire's is very hard to beat, but I do also love Garfield's from TASM 2. Brand New Day looks like having the best MCU Spidey suit so far
  2. Yes and no. A year or so ago this looked nailed on for $1 billion. Even a couple of months ago it seemed likely be one of summer's biggest hits, when you consider how much Moana has grown in popularity since its release in 2016 (Disney+ records etc) and the success of Lilo & Stitch last year. But it did also look terrible, and the animated franchise is still very strong and recent thanks to Moana 2, we might be at a stage where The Rock is more of a turn-off than a box office draw, and then the reviews really condemned it, whereas it might've got more walk-ups if it'd been a rave. It's also just a bit of a weird summer and timing making it difficult for lots of movies: World Cup, the America 250 stuff before this, people having bought tickets and/or saving themselves for The Odyssey and Brand New Day (both of which have massive pre-sales), I think we're incresingly seeing that people have to choose 1-2 movies per month to go to and that just doesn't work for these huge budget tentpoles being crammed together, especially for families who've been squeezed a lot (you've just seen Toy Story a couple of weeks ago, you maybe went to Minions, you've got Spidey coming up, Moana becomes a push when you can just watch the better version at home on a service you're already paying for).
  3. Yeah, has to be something very small, I'm just expecting some funny bit where she insults him tbh
  4. My thoughts as well. Would question anyone not at least intrigued by this!
  5. Had to double check I hadn't made it up! https://comicbook.com/movies/news/tom-cruise-loved-the-flash-movie-andy-muschietti/
  6. With Ray Gunn hitting Netflix on December 18, there's a solid chance Doomsday isn't even the SECOND best movie coming out on that day
  7. Insane, though not quite as crazy as TOM CRUISE calling up Andy Muschietti to spend 15 minutes raving about it. But yeah, no way it was that bad.
  8. J.K. Simmons has opened up on the cancelled Batgirl movie, which was shelved a few years despite despite having been filmed. Four years on, it still seems like a major waste we were denied a Batgirl movie with great casting and the return of Michael Keaton's Batman. What would you like to see the DCU do with the character?
  9. If this is what was needed to get to The Rock vs. Roman Reigns then I guess I'll take it (I don't think he was turning down that Saudi bag regardless but definitely not now)
  10. Unsurprisingly, this looks absolutely incredible. And dare I say that Sandgren's cinematography looks even better than Fraser's!? That shot of Stilgar and the Freman on the beach 😮‍💨
  11. The first wave of reactions to Moana have been revealed (tellingly, very close to release), and they're not particularly positive, which suggests the full reviews might be even worse. Is anyone surprised by this? The live-action remakes have rarely been more than fine at best, and just can't capture the same magic of the animated movies, and really I think the writing was on the wall for this being one of the lesser ones the moment The Rock's wig and bodysuit were revealed. It also looks like being a dud at the box office, which is a little more surprising, since Moana is big and these remakes have overcome critical reception several times before. But it's a crowded summer, it doesn't look good, and I think the combination of the original movie being so fresh and it getting a massive sequel less than two years ago is a killer here (tbf, this was green lit before Disney decided to turn its Moana show into Moana 2, but it hasn't helped). What do you think, and is anyone going to see it?
  12. It'd be fun to have them team-up in some way, but not for a full movie. I've never been super high on the Deadpool movies (they're fine), less so after three of 'em, so would prefer to have Reynolds' schtick used in smaller doses
  13. Colman and Odenkirk were my immediate thoughts, but also have to give a shoutout to John Mulaney as Stevie - the scene where the Faks pitch him their baseball card scheme is so good
  14. The optics of it are obviously pretty bad, especially after the DCEU chaos, and that's probably the worst thing for them given the DCU is just starting. From what is actually reported, it doesn't sound remotely close to being as damaging/drastic as things like Justice League/the Snyder Cut, since the differences don't seem to be that extreme (and the bigger issue is that neither version was exactly super well received), but certainly compounds the issues of Supergirl being a critical and commercial misfire. Still, Gunn has delivered a lot of comic book movies that I think are good-to-great, and I have faith in both Clayface and Man of Tomorrow, so am not too worried just yet
  15. Yep yep yep sign me the hell up. I'll be there for anything Leo does anyway, but this cast is so good (gotta give a shoutout to Stephen Graham as well)
