  1. Liefeld did this with X force back in the 90s - thought it was fun.
  2. Ghost Machine books have been my favorites this past couple of years - especially red coat
  3. Oh yeah huge 80s Marvel fan - Claremont's Xmen was king - loved Miller's DD. Also Stern's Spiderman run and then Micheline which brought about Venom. And then of course Dematteis late 80s run with Kravens last hunt. Micheline also had a great run with Layton on Iron man. Still the thing that shook me most in the 80s was the Death of Captain Marvel
  4. Yeah as everyone has said already - never staying dead and constant relaunches is tiring. Like I have absolutely loved FF since Ryan North took over - they relaunched it in the middle of the Emperor Doom story and they promised you would understand why and 15 issues into the relaunch and I still have no idea why. North is still writing it.
  5. I put in for Xmen - have to be honest the FF and Spidey books didn't sound that interesting to me.
  6. Logic tells me Ghost Rider but just feel like Wolverine would find a way
  7. I tried Uncanny Xmen for the first 12 issues - wasn't bad but wasn't good either in my humble opinion and I usually like Simone's work but this just didn't resonate with me. I do like the Xmen book but honestly I have enjoyed some of the mini series - like the Moonstar one - more. I have also liked Generation X23. But I do wish in general the x books felt more cohesive
  8. I really only grab variants from specific artists like a Platt or Sharpe or few times Marvel has brought Ron Lim back for a few backs. Otherwise I am mostly cover A
  9. I am old so I loved the late 80s lineups that had Cap Iron Man thor (in and out) wasp scarlet witch vision ms marvel wonderman and beast.
  10. I was 50/50 on it so will probably grab issue 2 to see how I feel. It felt like she was batman with all the gadgets and I honestly wasn't sure if I liked it or not.
  11. Sharp has become my favorite comic artist over the past 10 years or so - I buy anything I see him draw. I really enjoyed his Starhenge book 1 and really looking forward to this. He did an amazing Savage Sword of Conan a few months back that was just absolutely beautiful.

Ha ha ha - I was never much of a pot smoker but Starlin is my favorite writer. Got to meet him at a small con here in CT and got him to sign my Death of Captain Marvel graphic novel. I was 10 when that came out and hit me like a ton of bricks.
  13. Think the one I agree with the most is Gwen Stacy. But yeah death in comics has no meaning. I have to admit I was mad at first about Bucky but the winter solider storyline was so well done I came around on it. That said after Brubaker left think they have done nothing good with the character, at least in the comics.
  14. Funny for Darkhawk I always wanted Ron Marz and Ron Lim to take a crack at him - see if they could recreate the magic of their epic Surfer run on that character. I have been really enjoying the Ghost Machine books - Redcoat and its alternative US history stories have been so good - would love to see Johns and Hitch actually do Captain America.
  15. Its funny as an older xmen fan - for me the emma cyclops romance eventually turned me from comics. breaking up scott and jean for me felt so forced in Morrison's run - hated it. Scott and Jean's love literally stopped the Phoenix and saved the universe so that is the most important to me. But Peter and MJ run a close second.
  16. I am lucky enough that a comic book store opened in my small town about 9 years ago. I wasn't collecting much (only wonder woman sub for my daughter) but I immediately started collecting again and used the store to support them. They definitely do a lot more with magic and D&D and tournaments but it is nice to have a store to go to. Plus I have 2 boys that are autistic and they love wandering around the store and looking at comics, pops etc and the owner is so patient and never cares about them touching anything. It has been a great experience having one again. I am old so when i was a kid I actually used to get my comic books at a magazine store in the Bronx. It was basically my mom's bribery to bring me shopping - stop at the store get some comics, plop me down at the pizzeria to eat lunch and read while she shopped up and down the block. Different era :)
  17. good one - Cyclops, Phoenix, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Storm, Kitty, Magik and Colossus

If we are talking all time I feel like the Silver Surfer run that started with Starlin and Lim and then when starlin went to infinity gauntlet it was Ron Marz and Ron Lim - was just an epic run of quality and art for years on a comic.
  19. Always liked the Jack of Hearts character - really enjoyed the brief revival he had in the Surfer books for a bit in the 90s.
  20. I haven't picked up all the books but really love Redcoat, Geiger and Rook from Ghost Machine. Art is fantastic and the stories are all well done. I haven't picked up any of the horror ones but honestly think these are some of the best books out right now.

Yeah I have to say I enjoyed the Batman Ninja turtles animated movie way more than i expected. In the right hands it could be well done. I personally think their vibe fits Gotham more than other DC cities but that's just me.
  22. Yeah the original Infinity Gauntlet was such a great story and the lead up to it in the Surfer books at the time when Starlin took over and first brought Thanos and Warlock back were great. I didn't necessarily love the Maximum Carnage story but the artists marvel had on the three spiderman books at the time were amazing - Tom Lyle, Sal Buscema and Mark Bagley with an issue from Ron Lim and Alex Saviuk mixed in. Like I felt like the story didn't need to be that long but the art was so good I didn't care. Not as long and sprawling but one of the first major crossovers I can remember was Thanos's first death - going from Avengers annual and then ending in Marvel Two in One Annual was one of the first big crossovers I can remember Marvel doing and as a kid at the time it felt Epic ha ha
  23. Peter and MJ - old enough to remember Peter and Gwen but he always felt more right with MJ to me.
  24. yeah I honestly its hard to say a specific moment - my uncles who were like my big brothers were always giving them to me to read and I can remember my mom reading me comics as far back as when I was like 4. Mostly Marvel books but definitely some Batman and Wonder Woman thrown in there to. I definitely learned to read via comic books as a kid
  25. I generally stick with cover A but if I see a Jim Lee or Ron Lim variant I will generally grab their stuff. Or when Marvel did the muppet variants a few months back I grabbed a few of my sons favorites to frame
