5 things i want for a potential Studiopolis redub of Classic Pokémon anime.

Featured Replies

To the editors at ComicBook.com,

I am writing as a dedicated Pokémon fan with an idea I believe would resonate strongly with the community. With the 30th anniversary of the franchise approaching in 2026, many fans are thinking about how to best honor its rich history.

I would like to suggest a fan-supported idea for a potential redub of the classic Pokémon anime. I believe a modern redub handled by a studio like Studiopolis could be a great way to celebrate the original series while introducing it to a new generation.

This redub would maintain the familiar English names of characters and Pokémon, keeping that crucial sense of nostalgia. Most importantly, it would serve as a heartfelt tribute to the legacy of the 4Kids era voice actors, specifically Rachael Lillis and James Carter Cathcart, who made such a significant impact on our childhoods and who are now sadly no longer with us. The series could be dedicated to them in the credits as a sign of respect.

To honor both versions of the anime, the redub could use English versions of the original Japanese opening and ending themes, bringing a fresh sound to the iconic melodies. The dialogue would be respectful, kid-friendly, and separate from the Pokémon Horizons continuity.

Thank you for considering this fan-minded feedback. A project like this, timed for the 30th anniversary, would be a wonderful way to celebrate the legacy of Pokémon and the talented people who brought it to life for us.

Sincerely,

A Dedicated Fan
