Pokemon Season 1-5 - 30th anniversary edition dvd and Blu-ray suggestion

Featured Replies

Hello.

Thank you for your recent coverage and for considering fan suggestions for the Pokémon franchise. As the 30th anniversary approaches, I'd like to propose a concept for a Pokémon Seasons 1-5: The 30th Anniversary Edition. I believe this project would be a respectful way to celebrate the series' legacy and engage fans across generations.

My vision for this anniversary set is to offer a comprehensive, high-quality release that honors every version of the show we've come to know and love.

Key Features of the Anniversary Edition:

  • Three Dub Options: The core of the set would be all 250+ episodes from the Kanto, Orange Islands, and Johto sagas with three distinct audio tracks:

    • The Original Japanese Audio: For purists who want to experience the show as it was originally broadcast.

    • The Original 4Kids Dub: To honor the iconic version many fans grew up with, preserving its unique music and dialogue.

    • A New Studiopolis Redub: A fresh, modern dub with a talented new voice cast (like the one previously suggested) and a more faithful script, bridging the gap between the original Japanese and modern dubbing standards.

  • Bonus Content: To make this a premium collector's item, the set would include:

    • A brand-new, one-off animated special (such as the suggested Charicific Valley episode).

    • Documentaries and "making-of" videos detailing the creation of the new Studiopolis dub and reflecting on the legacy of the 4Kids era.

  • Release Formats: This special edition would be available as a premium Blu-ray box set and for digital purchase, with a release date targeted for late 2026 to coincide with the anniversary year.

Key elements of the redub proposal:

  • Keep established English character and Pokémon names.

  • Use original Japanese opening and ending songs with English credits and logo, and potentially new English singers.

  • Maintain a clean, kid-friendly, and wholesome tone with no inappropriate language.

  • Keep the show's content and scenes appropriate for a young audience.

  • Use a new voice cast to give the classic episodes a fresh feel.

  • Suggests a new episode centered on Charicific Valley, with Erica Lindbeck voicing the character Liza as a special tie-in.

  • Proposes Studiopolis as the production studio.

This project would not only be a wonderful celebration for long-time fans but also a perfect way to introduce the original series to a new audience. I hope this suggestion is taken notice of by the studios, as it would be a true sign of them listening to and appreciating the dedication of their fanbase.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

A Pokémon Fan
