Thursday at 10:01 AM5 days Hey everyone,I need to vent about the current state of physical media, and I know I can't be the only one feeling this way.1. Ditch the "Code in a Box" ForeverBuying a physical game case just to open it and find a piece of paper with a digital download code is an absolute scam. It completely defeats the purpose of buying physical.Zero Preservation: If the digital storefront goes down in 10 or 15 years, that plastic case on your shelf becomes expensive landfill. No Resale or Sharing: You can't lend it to a friend or sell it used once the code is claimed.Waste of Resources: If publishers don't want to manufacture discs or cartridges, they should stick to the digital storefront and stop wasting plastic. If we pay for physical, we want the data on the media. Period.2. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 on Switch 2 Needs a Proper Cartridge ReleaseSpeaking of physical media done right, if and when we ever get a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 revival, Activision needs to treat it properly—especially on the Nintendo Switch 2.The first 1+2 remake was incredible, but nobody wants a sequel that requires a massive mandatory day-one download just to play past the tutorial, or worse, a "code in a box" release.Put the entire game on a high-capacity cartridge.Let us plug it in and play instantly without burning through our micro SD card space.Treat classic franchises with the archival respect they deserve. What do you all think? Are you completely done buying "code in a box" releases? We want the physical media on cartridges on future games!Does this capture the vibe you were going for, or would you like to adjust the tone to be a bit more casual?
