Could Netflix Turn Geiger Into Its Next Big Comic Book Series?

If you haven't been reading Geiger, this might be a good time to check it out.

Netflix has reportedly optioned the screen rights to the comic, which doesn't guarantee that we'll actually get a movie or series, but it does mean there's at least some interest in bringing Geiger to the screen.

I've been reading the series, and I think it could translate really well to live action. Geoff Johns and Gary Frank have created this huge post-apocalyptic world, but what keeps me reading is that there's actually a good character story underneath all of it.

Tariq Geiger is a family man who survived a nuclear explosion and now lives in the wasteland outside Las Vegas. He's become this radioactive figure that people are terrified of, but there's much more to him than just the powers and visual design.

The series also feels like it's getting bigger as it goes, especially with the larger Ghost Machine universe being built around books like Redcoat and Rook: Exodus.

I think Netflix could have something really interesting here if an adaptation actually moves forward and they stay close to what makes the comic work.

If you've read Geiger, do you think it would work as a Netflix series? And if you haven't read it yet, I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot.

Been in on this universe since the beginning love it all. John's and Frank/ Anderson is one of my favorite teams in comics. Each issue feels epic and is so consistent.

Nice! Have you read any of Ghost Machine's other series like Hyde Street, Redcoat, Rook: Exodus, or Junkyard Joe? They're all extremely good!

Absolutely. Junkyard Joe was excellent. Rodok is almost my favorite book in this universe such a fun concept and the art is ridiculous. Redcoat is a cool idea but I only read here and there. That Albert Einstein dialogue in first arc was hard lol
