  1. He should probably just make a reboot of the next reboot that is waiting to be rebooted..or maybe he could make another rambo movie? Maybe a female rambo this time.... that's about his speed.
  2. I think any movie has the potential to be good if you add enough razzle dazzle. One thing I don't like is the destruction of characters as portrayed in the original. If you have to re-tell a story, is it necessary to completely redesign the characters as far from original as possible just to try and appear as unique or new? Imagine a movie about a boxer, best boxer ever, a white guy named Jarod Ali, and his most famous catch phrase was Jarod Ali, float like a feather, swim like a fish in the sea....that would be so epic! Right? No it wouldn't. And that's what this movie did.

It's gonna say, "Hey world! We can't invent any new exciting characters so here we go again with more refried bullshit". When you think about all the characters and storylines and different series in the mcu made possible by a handful of men like Jim Lee and Kirby and Romito and Zeck and rebooting something that has been rebooted at least twice since the original came out when I was a kid is the best we can come up with? It's pathetic and the refusal to create but rather reboot and simply rebrand old characters into a different sex or race is just about the only thing modern artists are capable of. That's why when something even remotely fresh comes out it takes off, like the boys or invincible. And even those aren't very original or unique. This is why comic books aren't going to survive in the future not because kids don't read paper media anymore but because they've already read every story before it comes out and they get tired of it. I remember working on Thunderstrike with Ron Frenz and thinking the same thing back in 1995. Here we are again talking about robocop when that movie came out when I was 8! Im 50 now!!! The industry needs to be held at a higher standard. Get up get out and create. Stop relying on ideas someone else came up with 40 years ago to get by because it's a safe bet. Stop changing iconic characters from men to women and from white to black and vice versa and just create something new. Can people do that anymore? Or are we gonna live the same stuff over and over forever. Hollywood will always do what's easiest and safest. We as a society have to stop giving them our money when james Gun pumps out another assembly line turd like he just did with Superman and Supergirl. Make them come up with something new and original or don't waste your money going to see it.
  4. I have to give it to the one character that carried marvel on his back for many years and many movies way before any of the spider man or x-men movies ever came out. If you dive into some history it's safe to say that although not the most popular nor the biggest money maker for marvel, hands down the Punisher has to be marvels mvp. Don't forget it was the Punisher played by Dolph lundgren back in the 80's that brought marvel back into mainstream pop culture. Not spider man or avengers or x-men. Frank Castle has stood the test of time battling just about everyone in the marvel universe at some point. His supporting cast can potentially be any characters you want to incorporate and it still flows seamlessly because of his interactions with just about everyone over the years.
  5. When Sanford Greene's Doom came out in 2024 I bought 8 copies from my lcs and sold everyone of them on eBay when they hit $40. I couldn't believe it when they reached almost $80. I went all in and started scooping up early Doom keys like avengers #25 and marvel superheroes presents #20, daredevil 37-38, and any FF silver age Doom cover I could afford with the idea in mind that a few months before Doomsday hits, everything would be through the roof and id make a killing but I'm at least 20k invested and I'm seriously having some serious doubts. The climate has really cooled off since RDJ made his announcement that he was playing Doom at the San Francisco comicon and I don't think that initial excitement is coming back anytime soon. Of course I have my fingers crossed that this will be the best movie since gone with the wind or Titanic but I think the storyline is too complicated for the general public that may like marvel movies but don't get into comics or know much about the different variations of Doom over the years. I think the silver age books will have a nice jump and then level off after the movie release dies down but as for everything else I don't see any significant investment value sticking and that sucks because Doom is great and marvel has always managed to ruin everything they've ever put him in and this might be the film that sinks doctor Doom forever but I guess we'll just have to see.
  6. Im so sick and tired of all the different variant covers that they pump out to sell the same comic 20x over. As someone who has nearly completed compiling a collection of every Doom cover ever printed, with the exception of the early FF covers and ASM #5, someday..lol the overwhelming push by marvel to spring Doom into the public eye with the hundreds of recent Doom covers and still going I might add has almost made me give up on the entire endeavor. Remember when kids bought their favorite comic when it came out at the local comic shop, now we have 20 variants for the same issue for as long as they can get away with it just to make a buck. It cheapens and ruins the hobby in my opinion. Just with the recent one world under Doom series and all of the variants that followed, do the math it has been ridiculous, I thought I was gonna have to take out a second mortgage all for books that undoubtedly won't be worth squat 20 years from now because of the high print counts but oh well, maybe peach momoko will become president someday and it'll all pay off after all..lol
