  1. What upcoming movies to end the year are you most excited about? I am looking forward to Zootopia and Wicked For Good as family movies at the end of November. My son is really excited about Five Nights at Freddy's 2, so we plan to see it at the start of December. I am also REALLY excited about Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. However, this year's Christmas movies seem blah. Sure, there is Avatar: Fire and Ash, but nothing else really screams Christmas Day theater trip. What are you looking forward to?
  2. Oh, man, the AMC by me has it in IMAX and Dolby. I love the Dolby theater more in this theater, but I wonder if it might be better on IMAX
  3. Hopefully, it finally gets made into a series (and is done right)
  4. I remember the first time I read it. I would take my son (who was a toddler at the time) to the library on Sundays, and spend the afternoon, while he was playing, reading graphic novels from the library I had missed or never heard of. That was where I first read American Vampire, and I was hooked.
  5. I need to see it. I just need to squeeze in the time. It looks great
  6. I was looking at this article that I wrote (10 Scariest Non-Marvel & DC Horror Comics), and was curious what everyone else thought. What is your favorite horror comic that isn't from Marvel or DC? I absolutely love American Vampire, and I know it's part of a DC imprint, but I don't consider it part of the DC line. I think it is just a brilliant take on vampires, and Skinner Sweet might be one of my favorite vamps. However, as a massive Stephen King fan, I have also become a monster fan of his son, Joe Hill, and I absolutely love his Locke & Key comics. My wife got me the box set for Christmas a few years ago, and it might be one of my favorites. So, what is your favorite horror comic that isn't a straight Marvel or DC?
  7. I don't think anything can match that moment. The closest might be if the X-Men are ready to attack and Cyclops says, "To me, my X-Men," or something like that. Maybe something big that finally brings the Young Avengers together would be fun.
  8. I agree with Kofi - Sinners and One Battle After Another fighting in my head for first place. Superman is up there too, but falls behind those other two. * I still need to see Weapons and will be seeing Del Toro's Frankenstein tonight at a press screening, so my picks might change.
  9. I am guessing I watched things like Sesame Street and Electric Company when I was a little kid, but I remember watching Scooby Doo after school and Super Friends on Saturday mornings (along with the Bugs Bunny and Road Runner Show). These days, I mostly watch wrestling (WWE and AEW), but I also watch anything superhero-related. Our family night with the wife and son is always geared around the latest Marvel show on Disney+, but when there isn't one of those on, we usually do movies instead of TV shows together. There was also Peacemaker, but that wasn't with the family.
  10. I saw The Ring in college, but it was in a theater where I was one of the only people there that day, and it freaked me out.
  11. I wasn't actually allowed to watch movies as a kid cause we were super religious and weren't allowed. The first movie I went to was after I left for college, and I never stopped after that. However, there was a TV show that messed me up as a kid. It was an episode of The Incredible Hulk where he fought Del Frye. Man, there was something about Del Frye's design when I was a kid that was nightmare fuel. I watch it now, and it isn't that bad, but when I was a kid, it messed me up.
  12. I don't really remember, but it was Marvel, and I am pretty sure it was a Spider-Man or Fantastic Four comic book. My earliest memories when looking at covers were some Amazing Spider-Man issues around the 190s (maybe, the intro of Black Cat?) and the Fantastic Four issue where Reed saved Galactus's life, but I am pretty sure I read some before those and just wasn't as into it as I got to be over the years. For DC, it was probably something weird like Legion of Super-Heroes or something like that, cause I didn't like most of the "goofy" storytelling of DC when I was a kid. I think the first DC comics I REALLY loved were the New Teen Titans by Marv Wolfman.
  13. Mine is kind of messy right now b3cause my son is breaking into it to discover more. I guess my favorites here are the Fables box. I also have the Locke and Key box set on another shelf. Boxes are in a closet
  14. Not lost or sold, but my entire comic book collection, which I started buying in the late 70s through about 1986 or 1987, was in a storage shed in my grandparents' backyard when I left for college. I came back and was told a tree had crashed into the top of the shed during a storm. All my comics were either water-damaged or eaten by termites by the time we got into them. I did give most of my action figures that survived my mom's old garage sales to my son.
  15. I think this looks pretty good. I actually let my son get the old Deadpool game before he might have been ready for it, and while this looks a lot more graphic, he is 16 now, so I think I might be letting him get this one. I'm sure he'll be excited when I let him see the trailer (unless he sees it on YouTube first as he doomscrolls there).
  16. I have mostly given up the game system time to my son since he is on his school's esports team for Pokemon Unite (they won their first competition this week and are 1-0 on the season). When I have time, I mostly still play College Football, as it's never-ending. LOL. Or play some WWE 2K with my son.
  17. I actually am more excited about it than I was before because it looks like a fun Star Wars movie, which is what I like since I came from the era of the original trilogy, where it was meant to be fun and not super serious (ie: Ewoks). But I know that this is something many younger Star Wars fans don't like, so this might be a hard sell.
  18. I am excited to see where it goes. When they mentioned the villain was connected to Bruce Wayne, I thought about Hush, but I think that Court of Owls might be the better story and could be really exciting. I also don't feel the wait will be that big of a deal. The first movie seemed like a nice self-contained story so the second shouldn't need too much of a connection.
  19. As someone of a specific age range, I have to go with the OG in Jason. Also, as someone of a specific age group, I have to go with the White Ranger, which wasn't listed, cause Tommy was always the best.
  20. I think its a Netflix thing. Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Punisher were all great interpretations.
  21. I think Marvel and James Gunn did an incredible job on the Guardians of the Galaxy. In the comics, they are mostly forgettable (Star-Lord is 100 times better with Nova in the comics than with the team), and the movies made them entertaining and incredibly fun. That first movie could have failed and ended up as a fantastic release. I also think that Chris Evans is a perfect Captain America. Robert Downey Jr. is a better Iron Man than the comic book version, where I actually can't stand the character. I also enjoy Thor (as a character) in the MCU more than I do in a lot of his comic book stories.
