My favorite of 2025 was Companion, even if it was more of a genre-blender. Most anticipated for 2026 is Scream 7 mostly just because I love the franchise.

It’s a nice course correction for Thor after the first 90% of Love and Thunder

Loved how the action (which was continuous) actively fed into either plot or character development.

I’d pay for a Sho Nuff’ spin-off

Yeah it has been on the back burner for way too long now. On one hand it makes sense to end Englund’s run with FvJ but as someone who could take or leave that movie I’d love a final goodbye. And it would cushion the blow of him passing on the glove to whomever is up for the role for a few movies

It’s sad Dan O’Herlihy couldn’t come back but agreed, that story could work with some expansion

I like the hybridization of following-up the original’s narrative and passing the torch (to the right person/people), which is what spaceballs seems to be doing with Bill and Lewis Pullman. Should be great!

Any movie from any genre as long as it was released in the ‘80s. For instance, I’d love one last A Nightmare on Elm Street movie with Robert England and Heather Langenkamp.

Companion for me, Sinners is up there too

Yeah, “Maybe someone around here gave him lessons” isn’t a super convincing dashed off explanation. I’ll still never say Halloween is anything less than perfect.

In any take on War of the Worlds, movie or otherwise, it doesn’t make sense to me that they’re likely highly intelligent but not smart enough to recognize that different planets have different atmospheres

The Xeno definitely wasn’t integral but without him we wouldn’t have that flashback episode so I’m going with worth it. If anything I think the connection to the IP is important for Weyland Yutani more so than for the Alien itself. It’s nice to see the evil company in action

I knew something was up when Peacemaker‘s dad was nice. There had to be a catch. Episode 6’s reveal is both a perfect explanation for that particular point (no one he blindly hates is part of the Smith family’s community) and a great way to kick off some more internal conflict for Peacemaker

I wouldn’t change it because Veep is perfect but poor Gary definitely got messed over. Such a downer ending for a lovable character who just wanted the best for Selina, which is about as Veep as it gets

Five years is a pretty hefty gap between films, but at the end of the day it’s better to have something well-prepared that took a while to cook than something that was rushed and doesn’t taste right. Plus The Penguin was there to help people scratch their Matt Reeves Batman itch
