Nominate Your Local Shop: CB Shop Talk Interview Series

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

We’re starting a new interview series highlighting local comic shops around the country (and internationally).

The goal is to stress the importance of local retail shops, how they’ve evolved overt the years, and the important part they continue to play in geek culture.

You can read the first installment here: https://comicbook.com/comics/feature/time-warp-comics-owners-talk-surviving-digital-retail-how-hollywood-can-help-your-local-comic-shop/

If you’d like to nominate your local shop, you can send an email to [email protected]. Make sure to tell us a bit about the shop and why you think we should highlight it!

Just sent in my nomination for Stronghold Collectibles in Lafayette, Louisiana. They’ve built one of the best comic communities I’ve ever seen. The staff and owners go out of their way to help people, and they even organized a drive to help rebuild my collection after my family lost our home in a fire right before Christmas last year. When I showed up at the shop, they loaded my vehicle with boxes of comics and graphic novels.

They host live shows on Discord multiple times a week and make everyone feel like part of the family. Easily one of the best and most inviting shops out there.

In Houston,TX Shannon works there and you couldn't ask for a nicer and most helpful person. This is the perfect local shop to interview. They sell funko pops Pokémon cards loungefly and much more.

Galactic Comics and Legends Comics in Florence, South Carolina! Two really great local comic shops that are always working on helping out customers while maintaining affordability.
