Ranking the PREDATOR Franchise After BADLANDS

Featured Replies

Ok, I had the weekend to rewatch this on Hulu. I gotta re-rank the franchise like this:

  1. Predator (1987)

  2. Predator: Badlands

  3. Prey

  4. Predators

  5. Predator 2

  6. The Predator

ALSO: Curious if Badlands changes your perception of at least the Predator arc in AvP? Like, does that Predator's story arc with Sanaa Lathan's character seem better now that we understand the Yautja better?

I agree with your list, except I'd switch 4 and 6, I kinda liked The Predator, more than Predators. Prey was a huge surprise, as when I saw ads for it, I didn't even realize it was a Predator movie, until it became apparent, what the natives were dealing with. Predator 2, is only not last on my list, because I love the insanity, that is Gary Busey!

It is also blowing my mind, that next year will be the 40th anniversary, of the original movie. When I was a kid, movies from 40 years ago, were starring Gene Kelly, Bob Hope, John Wayne, and Humphrey Bogart. I'm telling my kids about 40 year old movies now. Crazy.

I would only switch Predators with Predator 2, but that's a solid ranking!
