Best anatomically drawn character in comics?

Featured Replies

I was wondering, who everyone thinks is the best anatomically drawn superhero character in comic books past or present? I think they have all had their moments and even though I’m not a DC guy I think possibly Superman may be the best anatomically correctly drawn character overtime. Thoughts?

That’s a good pick with Superman. I feel like he’s kind of the benchmark for “ideal” anatomy in comics, especially with how consistently he’s been drawn over the years.

I’d probably throw someone like Batman (maybe not Absolute Batman though since he's much more exaggerated) into the conversation too, just because different artists tend to emphasize a more grounded, realistic physique with him compared to some of the more exaggerated characters.

In my humble opinion, I agree with you that Superman is/was the best anatomically correct character specifically when Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson teamed up starting with Superman #233.
