Avengers Endgame

Featured Replies

Avengers Endgame is one of the worst MCU movies to date for me. Fat Thor, soft Hulk, and Iron Man dying at the end didn't feel like a victory to me. And Iron Man, Thor, and Cap couldn't defeat Thanos alone. The movie had too much story telling and not enough action. Infinity War ended in defeat with the Avengers not fighting at full strength. Then we had to wait a whole year and 3 hours for them to get pretty much get defeated again. I'm sorry, Iron Man dying didn't feel like a win to me. No matter how you slice it.

Yeah, Tony's death was also set up years before: he had no ability to turn off his heroic responsibility to save the Earth, even from threats that didn't exist. He almost sabotaged himself and the defining relationship of his life because of that dangerous impulse. The idea that he was ever going to retire from being a hero just doesn't make sense, and him paying the ultimate price for heroism was fitting. And it was supposed to hurt.
