I've always wondered about this. When Thanos snapped his fingers and wiped out half of all life, do you think he included himself in the 50/50 chance? In other words, was Thanos willing to disappear along with everyone else if the Snap randomly chose him, or did he make sure he would survive?

I think it makes his whole "fair and random" argument a lot more interesting depending on the answer.

What do you think? Was Thanos part of the 50/50?

The more I think about it, I feel like Thanos would have included himself. His whole argument was that the Snap was supposed to be completely random and impartial. If he protected himself from it, that would make him a pretty big hypocrite.

I think he might have been willing to die for his cause, but I also think he expected to see the results of the Snap as well. As such, whether it was a conscious thought or not, the Stones could not include him.

I could see that happening. Like even if he intended to put himself in the mix to be fair, his subconscious may have overridden that command.

I think he didn't include himself because his plan also needed him to destroy the stones. So, while I think he wouldn't have an ethical problem with including himself, he probably left himself out of the pool to clean up the mess.
