WWE SmackDown Hype, Reactions, and John Cena's SD Farewell (Sept 5th 2025)

What's up wrestling fans! Tonight's new episode of WWE SmackDown doesn't have much previewed for it ahead of time, but the one thing we do know is that it will be the final appearance of John Cena on the blue brand before his retirement tour comes to a close. With only a few more dates left, it's going to be interesting to see what matches Cena and WWE find a way to fit in before the farewell tour ends, and with Sami Zayn showing up tonight with his new Title, that's likely going to mean some sort of match between them.

Plus, there's the whole Brock Lesnar of it all, and he very well might show up tonight too. Throw in (hopefully) another AJ Lee teaser and it should be quite the entertaining episode, and I'll be posting reactions and notes all throughout tonight's episode right here, so let me know what you think!

I loved AJ Lee's return, although she took freaking forever before she jumped Becky. However, I really hope that was a hint that they are going to keep her as the character she always was, someone who just snapped and always seemed unhinged.

I also loved John Cena vs. Sami Zayn, although I knew Brock Lesnar was going to ruin the ending. I am glad they got a lot of time for John to make Sami look good. I was surprised that the fans were booing Sami so much when he came out.
