I'm not gonna lie the HBO Lanterns series has me more excited than I've been for a show in a long time. I can't wait to finally see a good portrayal of green lantern in live action and the idea of John and Hal in a True Detective style story sounds awesome. My question is, given where we are and what we've seen of the DCU so far, what are some things you think we can expect to see happening in the series and how do you guys think it will tie into the larger DCU.

1. Alien Beings Coming to Earth and disguising themselves in human form (Sinestro, Atrocitus, hopefully Larfleeze, alien GL's, etc.). It's TV, and obviously, we cast familiar and/or good-looking actors. Expect to see more human faces than alien ones in S1.

2. Some complicated history of the GL's and Guardians as a peacekeeping/military force, with the history of the Manhunters and their rebellion, and the genocides they caused, all worked into it.

3. Better get a great episode of Hal Jordan and Sinestro Bantering/fighting

4. Garret Dillahunt is fo sho Black Hand - just perhaps the living version weilding the energy-absorbing cosmic rod Atrocitus leaves behind.

5. No Blackest Night this early, but the first mentions of that prophecy being seeded.

Same!!! Green Lantern is one of the most underappreciated (and inherently creative) spaces in the DC Universe, so I'm excited to see it get its due.

1. A streamlined origin of the Lanterns, but a complicated group of Guardians. The Guardians are always more interesting when they are conflicted as a group and depicted more as a body of government rather than a hive mind, so I hope to see that here.

2. A true detective story with a science fiction twist. I love the stories where Lanterns partner up and investigate a case, only for it to blow up into something seriously weird and cosmic in the end. It's part of the fun.

3. Newer elements of the mythology woven into the origin. While it's understandable we'll get elements of Rebirth and Blackest Night, I also hope to see elements of Jeremy Adams' run as well as John Stewart's newer run also in the mix. John's family, especially his mom and younger sister, are vital parts of his character now, and are critical to getting a more well-rounded view of who he is as a person without the ring. Same for Hal, but in his case, it's about how he is fearless in the face of cosmic beings and near-annihilation, but sometimes incredibly fearful of being vulnerable on a truly human level.

4. I need some of the new Lanterns, including the walking volcano Volk, as well as the newest Corp at least alluded to as part of the mythos in the Gray Lanterns (Sorrow). I hope we at least establish that early so we can come back to it later.
