Is Bend Studio able to switch companies like go to Microsoft

Featured Replies

I am not familiar with the gaming world like that. But I am familiar with us as consumers having to deal with gaming companies or juggernauts doing whatever they want and not listening nor doing what we ask for. For example The Last of Us has been remade 15 million times, Red Dead Redemption has also been made 15 million times for different gaming Generations. We the people ask for GTA IV to be remastered and re-released just for Sony to not approve it but give us GTA V 15 million times. With that being said I wonder if Ben Studios can relocate to Microsoft and if they are able to bring I guess that IP there and make a Days Gone 2, or just how that dynamic works.

Unfortunately, no. Bend can't just go to Microsoft. Sony's owned them ever since 2000 and even if they sold the studio to Microsoft (or let the heads of Bend go private), they may want to retain the rights to the Days Gone IP. It's like when Bungie left Microsoft, they couldn't take Halo with them. And now that Sony owns Bungie, it's not like they can make Halo games.
