I think they should have story appropriate cameos, but the new series should be free to explore new territory, style, team etc...grounded by links to the past, gates, Atlantis, etc...

I totally agree with you! The series should be its own thing, just using the same mythology. I'm fine with cameos and hearing about previous characters, but it would be better if they took us to a different corner of the universe.

My wife's favorite Sci-Fi series! And I agree that it needs to reference the mythology, and even have a cameo or two, but it needs to be its own series.
