May 28May 28 CB Team Star Wars has finally returned to releasing movies in May, something Disney has been trying and (mostly) failing to do since buying Lucasfilm. But do you prefer it as a summer blockbuster, or a Christmastime movie? I had a blast with Mando & Grogu and think it probably works better here, but there was something very special and extra exciting about Episodes 7 and 8 at Christmas
May 28May 28 CB Team As a prequel kid, I always associated Star Wars with summer, but I think Force Awakens changed that in a big way. There was something cool about it being the big holiday release.

Something about the Star Wars magic returning at the same time as Christmas magic just felt right, in the same way LOTR at Christmas did back in the day. Plus all the BB-8 merch, of course
May 28May 28 CB Team The wild part about this even being up for debate is that it wouldn't have happened if Harrison Ford hadn't gotten hurt on set of TFA and forced the delay; they were absolutely planning a May release

But even then, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker were also both scheduled for May at some point and got pushed back, which makes it crazier that Solo, the movie they had to reshoot 80% of, is the one they didn't move back.
