New Transformers....again

News has hit about another Transformers movie that's happening, but the question has to be asked....what gas is left in the tank?

It's easy to see the appeal of the series, but there are clearly diminishing returns, and insane continuity to work within. So what do people even want to see in these movies beyond the new Paramount owners wanting a billion dollar hit?

To pull this off, successfully & possibly reinvigorate the franchise beyond this, I would say a live action movie they portrays Cybertrom & events leading up to the civil war that predates everything we've seen via live action thus far. This is the only true story to be told that has potential to not continue the downward trend we've all witnessed w these more recent movies. Imho anyway...

All the starting and stopping isn't helping either. As soon as one doesn't hit they throw it out and try again (like that GI Joe crossover rip). Sad is it to say about the Bay films and how they ended up, at least they committed to a single universe and just kept at it

I think the biggest issue is that they keep hitting the reset button. Every time it feels like they're building toward something, they pivot in a completely different direction.

I'd love to see them commit to a single long-term vision and really explore Cybertron before the war, Optimus and Megatron's relationship, and the fall of their civilization. There's still a lot of great Transformers storytelling that hasn't really been explored in live action.
