August 5Aug 5 With the explosive success of Spider-Man Brand New Day, it may be worth considering that this film may be for current generations what Spider-Man 2 was for older millennials. It has already established itself as the most successful Spider-Man film and one of the most popular Marvel films in general based on initial numbers, and the reception has been overwhelmingly positive. This may be our new gold standard and rightfully so!
August 5Aug 5 CB Team I think you're on to something. I am an older millennial who remembers seeing Spider-Man 2 in theaters (somehow that was 22 years ago?!) and it blew me away. Brand New Day hits on similar themes with its Peter Parker story. I think Spidey is at its best when it's about Peter struggling balancing his personal life with superhero stuff. Brand New Day is my favorite live-action Spider-Man since the Raimi years.The only thing missing from BND was a scene where Peter's landlord asks for rent lol.

I remember all of them being well received when they came out. I don't think they're the best Spider-Man movies but they're fun.Yeah, No Way Home's flat visuals and script issues stand out more when you're removed from opening night hype and have the nostalgia glasses off, but the three Peters working together is still good stuff.
August 5Aug 5 CB Team Tobey's Spider-Man will probably always be my Spider-Man. Those movies were a huge part of growing up, so there's always going to be some nostalgia there.That said, I really loved Brand New Day. Holland's Spider-Man has the advantage of being part of a much bigger Marvel Universe, so seeing him interact with characters like the Punisher, Hulk, Jean Grey, and everyone else gives the movie a completely different feel than what Tobey had.I still have a soft spot for the Raimi films, but I can absolutely see why a new generation will look at Brand New Day the same way mine looked at Spider-Man 2.

There's something special about those films.
