Which Upcoming Comic Book Movie Has the Most Pressure on It?

There are a lot of big comic book movies on the way, but some of them have a lot more riding on them than others.

Avengers: Doomsday has to bring a huge cast together and set up Secret Wars. The upcoming X-Men movie has the job of introducing Marvel's new version of one of its biggest teams. Then there are characters like Ghost Rider who will finally get a chance to establish themselves in the MCU.

Which upcoming comic book movie do you think has the most pressure on it to get things right?

For me, I think it might be X-Men. There are decades of movies, characters, and fan expectations to live up to, while also trying to make this version feel like something new. Plus, if it fails, we could be waiting a long time for Marvel to take another big swing at the X-Men.

Man of Tomorrow. If that isn't well-received and a box office hit, it'd be really bad for the DCU. Especially with Gunn and Safran's contract status up in the air.

I agree, but Doomsday might still have more pressure, imo. It HAS to make 1.5 billion at the very least, especially after Brand New Day. Plus, it's a course correction for the entire MCU, according to Feige. The beginning of a new era... Gunn is being smart to treat each project as a project, as it softens the blow of a failure.

Doomsday would be my second pick. If that film sucks and we're left talking about how bad it was for a year before Secret Wars, any momentum established by Spidey is lost. I feel like Brand New Day got people excited for the MCU again, but these two Avengers movies need to hit it out of the park.
