It's definitely a lot of hype. The game has been in the works for a long time so I really hope it delivers for people, but it's hard to imagine it'll fully live up to expectations at this point for sure.
  2. I'm here for more single-player superhero games in general. Stuff like Marvel Rivals is fine, but I love to really dig into one character's story.

I'm pretty much all digital personally at this point, but I do feel like the physical disc option should stick around. Used copies and lending are essential for gamers, and we don't have a good way to do those things digitally.
  4. I definitely miss some of my older consoles, and I really wish greedy younger me hadn't sold them all to GameStop to upgrade to the next gen. That said, I have been getting a lot of use out of my Nintendo Switch 2 since I got it.
  5. I was a pretty late adopter for the PS5, so it feels like I just bought a new PlayStation. So I'll likely hold out until/unless something big forces my hand. I just don't see how the next generation will have that much new to offer technology wise to justify how much it's all going to cost with the memory shortage issues.
  6. Solid wishlist! I'm also hoping for Kingdom Hearts 4 news
  7. Same here! Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies (along with X-Men Evolution) are what got me into superheroes in the first place so big, big nostalgia. I definitely cried when I saw them on the big screen again lol.
  8. Fingers crossed for your wishlist! I definitely want to see more classic Pokemon game ports and new Winds and Waves info, too.
  9. I absolutely love Doc Ock. Seeing Alfred Molina reprise that role recently was a top tier highlight for me.
  10. I came here just to make this argument too. I loved X-Men Evolution as a kid, and I think it can definitely work in live action if they do it well.
  11. For me, I think it's more MCU required homework fatigue. I will always love a good superhero movie, but I don't like having to watch every single TV show and movie just to keep up with the ones I'm actually interested in. Spidey is always going ot be huge, but also, the movie largely stands apart from the "required reading" of the MCU so it's an easier entry point. And it's also not DC which just has a terrible track record for movies at this point.
  12. I'll admit, I've been largely trying to keep my expectations low for D23. But now that Disney has confirmed its star-studded Kingdom Hearts panel lineup AND The Game Awards confirmed they're co-streaming it, I think we might actually get a release date for Kingdom Hearts 4. What do you think?

Given that I'm like, the one person who doesn't really care that much about GTA6, I'll probably catch it on YouTube if at all.
  14. I think they're right to pull back. Having to follow the movies and several TV shows a year was a big contributor to my Marvel fatigue. I think having a show now and again could work, but as more standalone projects rather than required viewing. That said, I adored WandaVision and Agatha All Along so if streaming is how we're going to get shows about Marvel's women, I'll take it.
  15. I'm still struggling to wrap my head around a live-action Link, given that the character never speaks in the games. But I am excited to see what they do with it. And I'd like to place my bets now on Sam Neill as Rauru.
  16. Not my cup of tea, to be honest. I appreciate that Nolan wanted to make a point, but he stripped back a lot of Odysseus' wit and humor in the push to make him a more serious character. It was a technically well made movie, but it dragged at points for me.
  17. With so many of us bracing for a packed September, I'm curious what new games folks are looking forward to this month. It's kind of a calm before the storm sort of month, but I'm excited to see Starsand Island hit 1.0. And I'm hoping to circle back for Beast of Reincarnation eventually, too. What about you?
  18. I really want to see a Captain Marvel superhero game, but I suspect that's not going to happen. I think her powers would be incredibly fun, and they could do some interesting stuff with the Skrull as enemies, too. But honestly I really just want a big, full-team X-Men game.
  19. Since Pokemon Crystal just turned 25, I got to write about one of my core gaming memories: getting to play as a female character for the first time I can recall. That got me wondering... what are your formative early gaming memories?
  20. I could definitely see that happening. I think the big, full cast Marvel movies have lost some of their charm because of all the required homework. Whereas our friendly neighborhood Spider-man has always been a fan favorite. I'm excited for both, but I am also worried that some of Doomsday is going to fly right over my head.
  21. I'm so excited to see the X-Men again!
  22. I've seen a lot of theories about this, and I'm excited to see what turns out to be true. I've seen speculation that it's actually shapeshifted Loki, that it's Captain Hydra, etc.
  23. I'm the same way. I've always generally preferred the lineup coming out of PlayStation compared to Xbox, which seems to lean more heavily towards FPS and action titles over RPGs.
  24. Movies were one of the main reasons I picked the PS5 with a disc drive, tbh. I think I've watched... one physical movie since I got it?
  25. A new rumor has many gamers claiming they'll switch to Xbox if its next-gen console has a disc drive and PlayStation's doesn't. Will this be a deciding factor for you? Personally, I've been a PlayStation person since the day we got our PS2. I don't know if I'll switch, but I certainly don't love the digital monopoly Sony is trying to create.
