Which ‘80s Movie Would You Most Like to See Get a Legacy Sequel?

Featured Replies

Any movie from any genre as long as it was released in the ‘80s. For instance, I’d love one last A Nightmare on Elm Street movie with Robert England and Heather Langenkamp.

Yes, please! I'm still baffled that a franchise so revolutionary as Nightmare on Elm Street gets treated so badly in Hollywood.

It is finally happening. Spaceballs. One of my favorite movies and I am glad they are able to do it with Mel Brooks and bringing back so much of the original cast.

I still want a sequel to the Last Starfighter, because there's no way peace has lasted in the universe this long without needing heroes again.

I like the hybridization of following-up the original’s narrative and passing the torch (to the right person/people), which is what spaceballs seems to be doing with Bill and Lewis Pullman. Should be great!

It’s sad Dan O’Herlihy couldn’t come back but agreed, that story could work with some expansion

Yeah it has been on the back burner for way too long now. On one hand it makes sense to end Englund’s run with FvJ but as someone who could take or leave that movie I’d love a final goodbye. And it would cushion the blow of him passing on the glove to whomever is up for the role for a few movies

I agree with this! I remember watching that movie over and over as a kid.

The Last Dragon

I was gonna say Big Trouble in Little China but ive seen social media saying they're doing a sequel? The last dragon could be the story of Sho Nuff'

I’d pay for a Sho Nuff’ spin-off

I would love to see someone carry the torch lit by Don Bluth, he made some of my favorite movies. They all have received direct-to-video sequels (with varying quality), but it would be nice to see new theatrical releases with the same high quality animation and storytelling as the originals for any of these 80s animated classics:

  • The Secret of NIMH

  • An American Tail

  • The Land Before Time

  • All Dogs Go to Heaven
