October 29, 2025Oct 29 I was looking at this article that I wrote (10 Scariest Non-Marvel & DC Horror Comics), and was curious what everyone else thought. What is your favorite horror comic that isn't from Marvel or DC?I absolutely love American Vampire, and I know it's part of a DC imprint, but I don't consider it part of the DC line. I think it is just a brilliant take on vampires, and Skinner Sweet might be one of my favorite vamps. However, as a massive Stephen King fan, I have also become a monster fan of his son, Joe Hill, and I absolutely love his Locke & Key comics. My wife got me the box set for Christmas a few years ago, and it might be one of my favorites. So, what is your favorite horror comic that isn't a straight Marvel or DC? November 6, 2025Nov 6 CB Team My favorite non-big two horror book is without a doubt Something is Killing the Children. Big fan of much of Tynion's work in general, but that's by far my fave.

I would take my son (who was a toddler at the time) to the library on Sundays, and spend the afternoon, while he was playing, reading graphic novels from the library I had missed or never heard of. That was where I first read American Vampire, and I was hooked.
