They REALLY need to have a male voice for Aslan. It will completely ruin the movie if they make HIM a woman.

I am curious to see how Meryl Streep (if the reports end up panning out) sounds in the role, though that's mostly because I simply adored Liam Neeson's voice as Aslan in the Disney trilogy. That said, I don't think a different actor or actress voicing the character will ruin it. It all just depends on how they depict Aslan and the rest of the characters as a whole.

I agree. If it's well done, I don't really care about who voices Aslan.

Great performances are great performances: I'm primarily concerned with it being someone who has either done VO work, or can be directed to greatness. Casting actors without the experience based on name brand power doesn't always pan out. But I have faith in Meryl Streep if she's actually cast.
