December 2, 2025Dec 2 CB Team I gottta be honest, that's my biggest concern for the show... Sure, many new players jumped aboard the franchise with 2018's God of War. Still, the game has dozens of hours to tease Kratos' past and explain his complicated relationship with violence and revenge. Plus, the game was always sold as a sequel, from the start, so people who felt lost could get back to previous games. The series is aimed at a broader audience that doesn't play games. So it's a massive gamble to skip years of story. They might need some heavy-handed flashbacks, a lot of exposition, or, worse of all, change Kratos' origins. What do you think about it?
December 2, 2025Dec 2 CB Team As one of those gamers whose first God of War was the 2018 game, I'd rather the TV show cover the Greek saga so I could experience that story. Never played the Greek games. Wish they'd get a remake.
December 2, 2025Dec 2 CB Team I feel like they can't ignore this element of Kratos' history in some form, so hopefully they include it as like flashbacks. Edited December 2, 2025Dec 2 by saperry

I just packed a backpack and visited a friend who had the console so we could play all night long.
December 10, 2025Dec 10 CB Team Seeing as how the Greek era was such a big part of the games, I agree that we're going to have to see some look at it all. It might have been too wacky and wild to build like a prestige TV series around, and the Norse era fits better for a TV show kind of story, but this is a very important part of Kratos' character and personality. It's literally weighing on him, and they can't just not mention it in a faithful adaptation
March 10Mar 10 All of these people talking about how important it is to know Kratos' backstory and whatnot...I just really wanna turn my brain off and see Kratos slaughter his way through Greece in live-action.Is that too much to ask?
