What’s a recent comic you wish you’d locked in early before it blew up?

I’ve been thinking about how quickly some books take off lately and how unpredictable it can be.

Curious what recent comics caught you off guard, whether you missed early issues, didn’t expect the buzz, or just wish you’d locked it in sooner. I know I have a few I wish I had gotten into sooner.

For me, it was the Absolute Universe from DC. I honestly got very lucky because someone at my local comic shop put it on my pull list early, which let me grab first prints across the line.

Absolute Batman especially could have been an easy one to miss once the buzz picked up and the prices went up. Looking back, I really wish I had gotten into all of the Absolute titles right from the start instead of catching up as things took off.

I always feel this way about The Walking Dead. I missed the boat early on in single issues and had to catch up a bit in trade. My buddy had the first issue and it was worth a nice amount at one point.

That's a good one! I remember wishing I had bought one too.

Something Is Killing the Children for me. By the time I read it the thing was forty issues deep. The good news is they have these killer hardcovers coming out, so it worked out and I can just get those haha

I just started that one last week! I got the trade paperback for the first volume and finished it in one sitting. I need to order the rest of them and get caught up. It's a really good story so far.
