Happy New Comic Book Day everyone!

Lots of great comics this week, though a few of the big standouts include DC K.O. #3, The Ultimates #20, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #14, and Knull #1. Particularly curious to see what Al Ewing can do with Knull, as I loved Donny Cates' work on the character.

Other single issue highlights include:

  • Transformers #28

  • Aquaman #13

  • G.I. Joe #17

  • Supergirl #9

  • Green Lantern Corps #12

  • Dungeons of Doom #1

  • Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring #5

  • Wonder Woman: Black & Gold 2026 Special #1

  • Sai: Dimensional Rivals #1

  • DIE: Loaded #3

  • Tomb Raider: Sacred Artifacts #1

  • Alice Forever After #1

  • Where Does the Rainbow End #1

Trade and Hardcover Highlights:

  • Poison Ivy Vol. 6: A Death in Marshview

  • Absolute Death of Superman HC

  • Justice League of America: The Nail - The Complete Deluxe Edition HC

  • Secret Wars: Battleworld Omnibus Vol. 2 HC

  • Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Pink Ranger TP

Here is a concise pitch for what this crossover could look like.

---

## The Plot: "Morphic Chaos"

When Dr. Eggman discovers the Morphenomenal Energy of the Grid, he strikes a deal with Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa. Using a combination of Chaos Emeralds and Power Coins, they accidentally merge their two dimensions.

The Rangers find themselves in the colorful world of Mobius, while Sonic and his friends are transported to Angel Grove. They must unite to stop a "Genesis-Powered" Zord from rewriting reality.

---

## The Teams & Pairings

In this crossover, the characters are paired based on their fighting styles and elemental affinities:

| Power Ranger (MMPR) | Sonic Character | Connection / Synergy |

| --- | --- | --- |

| Red Ranger (Jason) | Sonic the Hedgehog | Leaders with unmatched speed and heart. |

| Blue Ranger (Billy) | Tails | The genius inventors and tech-support. |

| Pink Ranger (Kimberly) | Amy Rose | High-energy gymnasts with signature weapons. |

| Black Ranger (Zack) | Knuckles | The powerhouse brawlers of the group. |

| Yellow Ranger (Trini) | Blaze the Cat | Disciplined warriors with fire-based agility. |

| Green Ranger (Tommy) | Shadow the Hedgehog | The brooding, powerful rivals-turned-allies. |

---

## The Villains: The United Front

The antagonists form a dangerous hierarchy, blending magic with mechanical precision:

* The Masterminds: Lord Zedd and Dr. Eggman. Zedd provides the dark magic to grow monsters, while Eggman upgrades them with robotic armor.

* The Generals: Rita Repulsa and Metal Sonic. Metal Sonic is infused with the Green Ranger’s dark energy, making him faster and more lethal than ever.

* The Muscle: Goldar leads an army of "Putty-Badniks."

* The Lab Crew: Finster, Orbot, and Cubot work together to create "Monster-Bots"—monsters made from Mobian DNA and recycled scrap.

* The Comic Relief: Squatt and Baboo frequently get into trouble with Eggman's bumbling robots.

---

## Key Highlights

* The Mecha-Dragonzord: A massive battle between a Metal Sonic-controlled Dragonzord and the combined force of the Tornado (Tails' plane) and the Megazord.

* The Chaos Morpher: Sonic uses a Chaos Emerald to temporarily "Morph," gaining high-speed armor.

* The Climax: A showdown at the Moon Palace, which Eggman has converted into a giant "Death Egg" version of Rita's castle.

Will you post an article about this for 2026?

This was a really good new comic book day! I picked up Geiger #20, Dungeons of Doom #1, Uncanny X-Men #22 with the cool Rogue/Gambit card cover, TMNT #14 Eastman cover, and MegaMan X #0. Such a great lineup!

TMNT #14 ruled! The artwork in that book really kicks, and those final few pages had me all in the feels

Really enjoyed DC K.O. #3 this week, especially the Superman and Joker of it all. We're building to a major battle there, though anytime I get a Wonder Woman and Barda team-up, I am also not complaining.

Enjoyed Knull #1 too, but as we talked about on the most recent episode of ComicBook Nation, this was mostly a setup book, and I'll be interested to see how the character of Knull develops in future issues (or if he develops)
