Did Something Is Killing the Children hook you enough to keep reading?

I just finished Volume 1 of Something Is Killing the Children, and I ended up reading the whole thing in one sitting. I really liked the tone and the mystery, and it definitely held my attention. The art was interesting as well.

That said, I’ve only read the first volume, so I’m curious from people who kept going. Does it continue to build in a satisfying way, or does it change pace or focus as it goes on?

It gets even better, in my opinion. I read everything, including the spinoffs. The spinoffs can be hit or miss, but the main series is fantastic. Some people complain about how many arcs are flashbacks, but I do enjoy this non-linear structure, as it helps inform the characters' present-day choices.

If you want to read the spinoffs too, I highly recommend:

-Enter the House of Slaughter
-House of Slaughtert (Arcs 1, 3, and 5; you can skip the others unless you are really into the universe)
-A Monster Hunter Walks Into a Bar

The Books of Slaughterone-shot trilogy is also great if you like worldbuilding and mythology.

Sounds like I have some books to buy! I like sticking with a great series.

Something Is Killing the Children is one of my favorite series of all time, and it absolutely gets better as you go. We're still getting meaningful revelations and character arcs 40 plus issues later.

That's good to hear! I like long series that stay interesting like that. I'll go ahead and order the next few books in the series.
