February 5Feb 5 CB Team I was thinking about this tonight while accidentally ending up down a rabbit hole about a particular filmmaker and wondered what "iconic" filmmakers do you think are overrated and why?
February 5Feb 5 CB Team An "iconic" director I've never been into is Tim Burton. I've watched a handful of his films and they just don't do it for me. I can't put my finger on why, I've just never been a fan.I think this has more to do with the fact I went to high school with a bunch of Tim Burton superfans and every time we watched a movie in class before a holiday break it was Edward Scissorhands. I just got sick of it. It was fine the first time but I never understood the obsession they had with that movie.I love Ed Wood though. That's the only Burton film on my shelf.

Tim Burton is just "okay" as far as I'm concerned, though he has some movies that I definitely enjoy.

I've seen quite a few of his films, and I'm just not much of a fan of most of them. He definitely has a great and distinctive style, but I do think he's pretty overrated.
