What Filmmaker Do You Think Is Overrated?

An "iconic" director I've never been into is Tim Burton. I've watched a handful of his films and they just don't do it for me. I can't put my finger on why, I've just never been a fan.

I think this has more to do with the fact I went to high school with a bunch of Tim Burton superfans and every time we watched a movie in class before a holiday break it was Edward Scissorhands. I just got sick of it. It was fine the first time but I never understood the obsession they had with that movie.

I love Ed Wood though. That's the only Burton film on my shelf.

I tend to agree. Tim Burton is just "okay" as far as I'm concerned, though he has some movies that I definitely enjoy.

I'd so agree with this. I've seen quite a few of his films, and I'm just not much of a fan of most of them. He definitely has a great and distinctive style, but I do think he's pretty overrated.
