Anyone Try Sons of Sparta Yet?

Has anyone here played Sons of Sparta since it was shadow dropped last week? I'm wondering if it's worth picking up or not. I love the modern God of War games (haven't played the Greek saga yet), but I'm not the biggest fan of 2D games and that Metacritic score is solid not great. I've got so many other things to play, but willing to give Sons of Sparta a chance if it's good.

I have not played it, but I don't think it looks very good. Really not a fan of the art style or its animations, in particular. It would be more interesting if the entire game were co-op, kinda like how they advertise it, but unfortunately, it is not.

I've been playing it for review. There's a lot I like, but a lot I also dislike. Combat is the primary thing I'm down on. For a God of War game, the combat mechanics are too basic and boring. Other than that, I've enjoyed the exploration elements. It's good, but nothing special.

Looking forward to the full review! That's a shame about the combat. That's always been a strength of God of War.

I might pick it up eventually, but it's certainly not at the top of my list. Especially with Requiem right around the corner
