The Boys is back for its final season. I thought the two-part premiere was pretty good: I liked the death scene in it, some good action beats, lots of fun character moments, and generally solid setup for where the season is headed (helped by knowing it's the final one). What did others think?

It's alright, but I think it's good we're wrapping this up, b/c it feels like it's kinda, sorta, running on fumes. Kimiko's talking is something I'm glad we're only getting for one season. Sheeesh.

Still, Jensen Ackles is a treasure. Not a bad start.

Yeah, I think it might be that reality is almost too close to what they're doing here, which has been the case since last season, this one has run its course clearly.

Not to mention it has become the thing it used to make fun of, the product placement and merchandising are out of control.

I think once I got used to the idea that this final season is going to be a big bummer, I liked the episodes more. It's just hitting too close to home to be comfortable.
