May 12May 12 CB Team Personally, I recognize The Odyssey as Greek Mythology, open to interpretation. Others feel... differently. Where do you stand? Are you locked into this vision? Or do you have issues with it?Latest trailer: https://comicbook.com/movies/news/new-the-odyssey-trailer-gives-fresh-look-at-robert-pattinsons-villainous-suitor-charlize-therons-calypso/
May 12May 12 CB Team I'm very biased because Nolan is one of my favorite directors of all time, but I could not care less about accents or historical accuracy or any of that. I think this movie looks awesome and I can't wait to see it.
May 13May 13 CB Team People wringing their hands about "accuracy" are generally the same group of people who never bothered to read Homer when it was assigned reading in high school so honestly I don't care about the discourse. It's not even a "historical" story to begin with. It's, in the broadest terms, merely folklore, old timey popular fiction that likely changed in its delivery from audience to audience anyway. To me, this just continues that tradition.
May 13May 13 CB Team I do not care about accents or accuracy. This is a movie with cyclops and mermaids. HOWEVER, Nolan likes to underline historical accuracy as one of his artistic goals, which in this case is absolutely nonsensical. I think the friction comes from there.
