How do you feel about The Mandalorian & Grogu after seeing the first reactions?

The first press reactions to Mando & Grogu are in (https://comicbook.com/movies/news/the-mandalorian-grogu-first-reactions-cant-agree-if-its-one-of-the-weakest-star-wars-movies-or-super-fun/), and they're quite mixed. There's a lot of "this is fun," along with several complaints about its story and just being an extended episode of TV, none of which is particularly surprising (and hey, Star Wars is divisive, what else is new?).

Honestly, if it's just a big, fun, pulpy adventure ride, with Grogu being cute as hell, I'm fine with that considering the last Star Wars movie was a complete disaster.

Honestly, the reactions were more or less what I was expecting. I am excited to see the movie, but I never thought it was going to be like a life-changing 10/10 cinematic masterpiece.

Not everything needs to be a home run. It's okay if this is just a solid base hit. As long as it's a fun Star Wars adventure with two characters I've grown to love, I will be happy.

I just watched Caravan of Courage yesterday. my guess is it will be a better movie than that, or at the very least enjoyable and fun.

I mean, I would HOPE it's better than Caravan of Courage! 😅

Yeah, exactly. There's this sense a Star Wars movie needs to be something grander and greater, but if you average out the movies, the bar isn't that high (3-4 masterpieces, but then the rest varies quite a lot)

You can probably make the argument that the reactions are like a best case scenario considering how shaky things looked early in the marketing campaign. I think part of me was expecting more universally negative reactions.

Yeah, go back to where things were around the Super Bowl... this feels like a win. Obviously that terrible marketing was all part of the plan to lower expectations, genius 😉

The comments I'm hearing suggest this is aimed straight at kids, and that kids love it (one friend's 10-year-old saw it and apparently cried!). So... if it's aimed at that audience and lands, then I'm very happy indeed. I'd prefer something more impactful, but I get it; we're in a bad place if everything at Star Wars is aimed at me, and not wider groups :P

Maybe George Lucas was right all along 😅

This is why I am bringing my life-sized Grogu figure to watch the movie with me! If it is a Kids' movie, I'm bringing my child( and I'm expecting another thanks to Sideshow Collectibles😁, he will have a brother!)
