  1. I think the superhero genre will always be here. But it will also never be what it was; the days when a middling movie could be a box office hit are long past.
  2. I think everybody - it's the end of the multiverse, after all!
  3. I think it's more they didn't want to go full body-horror. Plus it wouldn't have worked on a thematic level imo; Spidey needed to accept the two parts of himself, to bring them together. But if one of those parts is literally an inhuman monster, that becomes a much less empathetic choice!

Gotta be honest, I felt this season was a bit underwhelming in the end; too disjointed for my liking. What were your thoughts?
  5. Yeah, I think original content on Disney+ will mostly become special presentations and animations. It feels a bit of a shame; they're throwing the baby out with the bathwater imo. More Skeleton Crew, please, Lucasfilm!
  6. SUCH a good show!
  7. They're casting for characters who are in their late teens. Jean is older than Buffy was in BtVS Season 1.
  8. Definitely a hot take! That said, I think the key thing running through here is that people's tastes are different. I admit, I was never a huge fan of Venom in the comics, so the films didn't really appeal to me; I haven't actually gotten round to Kraven yet. That said, some of the MCU films you'd mention... well, I can't argue they're quite poor lol!
  9. I couldn't disagree more tbh :) X-Men are basically superhero soap opera, and having them as teens maximizes that. I mean, X-Men: Evolution showed just how great this could be!
  10. To be fair, I think they kind of assumed Season 2 would be as big as Season 1. Imo it hasn't been as good; it's just been too disjoiinted.
  11. Absolutely adored it. My personal favorite for Spidey since possibly Spider-Man 2!

Yeah this is SHOCKING. I can only guess they want Cretton on the movies.
  13. I can see it happening, especially given Chinese box office predictions. Plus.. it is GOOD.
  14. Personally, I... absolutely LOVED it. I think this may be my favorite live-action Spidey film since Spider-Man 2!
  15. I wouldn't have done it until BP4 tbh. We've literally just had a movie about Shuri becoming the Panther, and then we move to a new one in the next film lol?
  16. Yelena, for me; the most well-developed character at this point.
  17. It's sad the MCU has come to this. I think, for me, Endgame was the mistake; I remember writing at the time that the only way to properly handle an event like the snap was to undo it with time travel. Because the MCU really works when it's set in "the world outside your window", and an event like the snap breaks that. There is no sane and sensible way to imagine that this is "the world outside your window" anymore. That five-year time jump made things worse, because you had five years of progression that was unseen. How much of the Hulk's story, for example, was actually on-screen in the first place? Honestly, I think Endgame broke the MCU. I enjoyed the film - but it was a full stop, not a comma. A conclusion, not a launchpad. That, to me, is the big issue with Secret Wars. If Marvel get this wrong, it will feel like a full stop - and a bigger one than Endgame, because it will tie a bow over every Marvel story since 2000 (possibly beyond, if Wesley Snipes' Blade is in it). The stakes are very, very high right now. And I don't know if Marvel realize it, or frankly can pull this off the way it needs to be. I'll still watch. I still am a fan; but I'm undeniably less passionate and excited, and it's a matter of individual projects getting me engaged rather than the universe itself. I've always loved the X-Men, so I'm guaranteed to see those. But beyond that... Marvel hasn't sold me on much yet. Black Panther 3 has Ryan Coogler, but I dislike that we've had an entire Black Panther movie where Shuri becomes the new BP, and the very next film is about a new one. Actually, dislike is too weak a word; that actively annoys me. And if Marvel dare reduce Storm to "New T'Challa's love interest," when that's only one arc for a character who's been around since 1975, then I will be seriously angry. Coogler's involves, so I have hope, but the MCU doesn't do well at handling female characters.
  18. I'd go with Danny, personally. Avoids de-canonizing AoS if you contradict things lol.
  19. Spider-Man traditionally, but sadly underdeveloped now.
  20. It looks fun. Lacks the emotional punch of Infinity War and Endgame due to its coming out at a time when Marvel has been struggling, but I'm sure it'll be good.
  21. Constant relaunches, I think. Magik has really had too many, when she could've just... had one ongoing.

I will say I'm a little sad at Marvel moving out of NYC though...
  23. Hmmmm. Didn't Tom Holland say one person remembered who Peter Parker was? It would be so funny if the Red Room programming meant she'd resisted Doctor Strange's spell lol
  24. I think this episode definitely set up something for the Winter Soldier story...
  25. Yup! Fantastic show, absolutely love it!
