June 5Jun 5 This is just something I stumbled upon while reading The Phantom Stranger (1952) #2 and not meant to be taken all too seriously; however, in the story "The Three Signs of Evil!" one of the depicted signs seems to very obviously be the copyright symbol. The story is also about an unsuspecting artist copying these symbols and almost getting murdered over them. Knowing DC's past of suing competitors & the fact that this story was written by John Broome, who worked at Fawcett in the 40s before moving to DC right before Fawcett was sued over Captain Marvel, i wonder if this story could be some sort of... commentary, I guess? I mainly just found it sort of amusing and wanted to see if there was any actual credence to the story, since it seem so specific.
June 5Jun 5 CB Team Hahaha this rocks. Feels like something that someone would make an important part of the lore decades later
June 7Jun 7 Easter Eggs in comics have been around for a long time. Interesting point about Jonn Brooke working with Fawcett when they were sued by DC.
