June 24Jun 24 CB Team I've noticed that a lot of comic runs eventually change enough that I end up dropping them and moving on to something else. A new writer comes in, the direction changes, or the book just stops clicking with me.That got me wondering: do you have a comic title that you'll keep buying no matter who the writer or artist is? For me, there are certain characters I'll almost always give a chance, even if the creative team changes. Other books live and die based on who's working on them. What about everyone else? Is there a title you'll always pick up, or are you more loyal to specific writers and artists than the character itself?
June 24Jun 24 Author CB Team Fantastic Four is probably my answer. I'll always grab the latest F4 book on new comic book day. I really like the new run.
June 25Jun 25 JLA is something that I will usually pick up. Golden Age heroes are my soft spot. Batman is usually my pick up too. Batman usually has a very strong writer along with a strong artist. Really the only Batman artist that I just couldn’t stand was Frank Robbins. I remember picking up a Detective comics with Neal Adams and a Batman comic with Frank Robins in the same month and thinking to myself WTF is this?
June 25Jun 25 CB Team Honestly, not really. I frequently buy comics on vibes as insane as that sounds.
