Tuesday at 04:26 PM4 days CB Team I'm sure that a RoboCop reboot CAN work in 2026, but is there anything it can say better than the original already did??
Tuesday at 09:24 PM4 days CB Team I think they could update it by leaning into AI. Instead of focusing only on cybernetics, RoboCop could have to deal with autonomous policing, AI decision-making, or even AI-controlled officers. There are a lot of modern themes they could explore while still keeping the heart of what made the original work.

We can't invent any new exciting characters so here we go again with more refried bullshit". When you think about all the characters and storylines and different series in the mcu made possible by a handful of men like Jim Lee and Kirby and Romito and Zeck and rebooting something that has been rebooted at least twice since the original came out when I was a kid is the best we can come up with? It's pathetic and the refusal to create but rather reboot and simply rebrand old characters into a different sex or race is just about the only thing modern artists are capable of. That's why when something even remotely fresh comes out it takes off, like the boys or invincible. And even those aren't very original or unique. This is why comic books aren't going to survive in the future not because kids don't read paper media anymore but because they've already read every story before it comes out and they get tired of it. I remember working on Thunderstrike with Ron Frenz and thinking the same thing back in 1995. Here we are again talking about robocop when that movie came out when I was 8! Im 50 now!!! The industry needs to be held at a higher standard. Get up get out and create. Stop relying on ideas someone else came up with 40 years ago to get by because it's a safe bet. Stop changing iconic characters from men to women and from white to black and vice versa and just create something new. Can people do that anymore? Or are we gonna live the same stuff over and over forever. Hollywood will always do what's easiest and safest. We as a society have to stop giving them our money when james Gun pumps out another assembly line turd like he just did with Superman and Supergirl. Make them come up with something new and original or don't waste your money going to see it.
