October 26Oct 26 CB Team One thing I've noticed after years of reading comics is how difficult it has become to take a major character's death seriously. We've seen so many heroes and villains die, only to return a few months or years later. Sometimes there's a great story behind their resurrection, but other times it feels like the death was only meant to create a temporary shock.I understand why publishers bring popular characters back. Nobody really expects Marvel or DC to permanently retire some of their biggest names. But I do wonder whether constantly reversing these deaths takes something away from the stories themselves. For me, a character's death can still be meaningful if the consequences stick, even when the character eventually returns. It's when everything goes right back to normal that the original story starts to lose some of its impact. What do you think? Have comic book deaths lost their meaning, or can they still be powerful even when we know the character will probably return? And which comic book death or resurrection do you think was handled particularly well or poorly?
October 26Oct 26 Donโt like comic book deaths. Post a different thread titled What do you want for the next future 3D Sonic games?
Friday at 04:15 PM2 days Not as much as they could be because they just bring back the characters to sell more comics and make the deaths have no or not as much consequence as they could have. As far as I know the only comic book death that's stayed permanent is the original Captain Marvel which is wild to me
Friday at 04:57 PM2 days Hate to say it but unfortunately no - deaths are constantly undone and often without good explanation. All feels like for shock value in a cheap attempt to boost sales.

I understand they have to keep the stories going, but I'm never shocked about a death anymore. I remember we all lost it when Superman "died" back in the day ๐
