  1. If it ever actually happens (which, at this point, who even knows), I would very much like to see Armor Wars. And VisionQuest gets more exciting every time I hear new details.
  2. I have a nice follow-up to this: I like Avengers: Age of Ultron more than I like The Avengers. I find it considerably more fun.
  3. Yeah, Tony's death was also set up years before: he had no ability to turn off his heroic responsibility to save the Earth, even from threats that didn't exist. He almost sabotaged himself and the defining relationship of his life because of that dangerous impulse. The idea that he was ever going to retire from being a hero just doesn't make sense, and him paying the ultimate price for heroism was fitting. And it was supposed to hurt.
  4. I'd take both. If the MCU can keep both Bucky and Sam Wilson around even with only one of them officially replacing Steve Rogers, they can give us Spider-Gwen and Miles in their own projects.
  5. "The City on the Edge of Forever" remains one of the best Star Trek episodes of all time, and the plan to bring back William Shatner for a sequel that explored the splintered timeline is now my favorite missed opportunity in recent Star Trek history. Would you have liked to see it happen? https://comicbook.com/tv-shows/news/60-years-later-star-treks-best-classic-episode-almost-got-a-sequel-with-william-shatners-return/
  6. I am genuinely quite fascinated with the cynicism around Toy Story. The first movie was a masterpiece. The second was even better. The third was also tier 1 film-making, and even when lots of people were very cynical about the need for Toy Story 4, it was excellent. 5 will make a load of money, has a genuinely good and appropriate storyline, given the weird blindspot of tech in the other movies, and has very little chance of being anything other than excellent. I don't get it.
  7. None of the new voice cast has been revealed. We know Gwen Stacy and Venom are involved because of the trailer shown at New York Comic Con, but no announcement has been made yet of who is playing either of them.
  8. Very much looking forward to X-Men '97's return. Both Doomsday and Brand New Day are very exciting obviously. I am very intrigued by what they announce at Comic Con.
  9. The Penguin if it counts. I still can't stop thinking about it.
  10. I tried to combine the first two words and got autobanned. I'm all for Gollum Wars.
  11. Nightcrawler star Alan Cumming says Avengers: Doomsday's script had secret names to disguise unannounced characters... https://comicbook.com/movies/news/original-x-men-star-reveals-avengers-doomsday-has-secret-unannounced-characters-reveals-how-much-hes-in-it/ But who could they be? Smart money would be on Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, at the very least if Cumming only had access to the X-Men universe part of the script. Ryan Reynolds/Deadpool? Famke Janssen's Jean Grey?
  12. As a fully paid up member of the Bustin' Makes Me Feel Good fanclub, I do love Real Ghostbusters (the best of the animated series), but nothing comes close to the original live-action movies. I'm hopeful the next live-action movie is better than Frozen Empire, and I'll definitely watch this, but give me the movies any time.
  13. Revealing his identity was a bold move, given he ends up in prison, but it fits with the struggle he's had with choosing the "right" moral response this season. Bullseye's bloodier approach is there as a counterpoint, but Matt was always going to do the right thing, even if it meant bringing his own whole world crashing down and putting himself in more danger. Great finale - great Kingpin corridor fight. Is Bullseye going to be a New Avenger? Or the MCU's only true Thunderbolt? More about the finale here: https://comicbook.com/marvel/feature/daredevil-born-again-season-2-ending-explained/
  14. New set photos from the first season of HBO's Harry Potter reboot confirm the original book ending is seemingly being restored where Harry is reunited with Vernon Dursley at King's Cross. And there's also a major tease that Hermione's parents will be there. https://comicbook.com/tv-shows/news/new-look-at-hbos-harry-potter-reboot-changes-the-movie-ending-teases-another-book-change/ This fits with speculation that we'll see more of Hermione's life outside of Hogwarts. That's good news, because by the time it comes for her to wipe her parents' memories in the final season, it'll hurt more.
  15. It’s very unlikely Joss Whedon would be welcomed back for the reboot. Sarah Michelle Gellar may now not be as interested, given she was convinced to return by Chloe Zhao specifically. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a completely new project now.
  16. Also loved it: when offered a True Detective spin on DC lore (which we were months ago), I expected a True Detective spin on DC lore, and thus am not losing my mind about it like The Discourse seems to want everyone to. The Penguin was The Sopranos vs DC, and might be the best DC TV content ever made. Aversion to creative difference baffles me. Particularly when we get a lore-accurate Dungeons & Dragons movie, and nobody sees it, and the MCU is repeatedly accused of near-sighted homogeneity.
  17. Well, I'm thankful, because I have to cover them, and writing unprepared trailers would be a bit of a nightmare. But for the general population, it is a shame. As soon as the price went up so much years ago, it was always going to happen. Maximum response to maximise ROI.
  18. Corrected! Thanks digitalzig!
  19. Spend it wisely… Captain America/Steve Rogers: $5 Iron Man: $5 Captain Marvel: $5 Hulk: $5 Thor: $5 Vision: $5 Black Panther: $4 Doctor Strange: $4 Spider-Man: $4 Scarlet Witch: $4 Bucky: $4 Captain America/Sam Wilson: $3 Ant-Man: $3 Shang-Chi: $3 War Machine: $3 The Wasp: $3 Black Widow: $2 Hawkeye: $2 Quicksilver: $2 Nick Fury: $2
  20. As a Brit, I am still completely reeling from the Sir Jimmy Crystal/Jimmy Saville stuff. Especially given how little it’s acknowledged (and I’ve heard Jack O’Connell deny he’s even based on him, somehow). Similar sort of shock to when Joker played Gary Glitter for Arthur’s staircase dance.
  21. Regardless of what James says, I think Thunderbolts*. I do very much like GOTG Vol 3, but Thunderbolts* combines some of my favourite storytelling with one of my favourite Marvel characters.
  22. But, she hasn’t been cast? YFNS is definitely going to be one of the most enjoyable Marvel releases this year, I just wouldn’t hold your breath to hear her in it, I’m afraid.
  23. What is it specifically about Erica Lindbeck’s Gwen that you’re looking most forward to?
