I still remember watching my dad play through the entirety of Ocarina of Time as a kid. Seeing him play it really pushed me to get more heavily into games myself.

I'm pretty excited about Crimson Desert but I'm definitely reserving my expectations just a bit. Story is one of those reasons. They haven't shown off much of its narrative just yet and it makes me think it'll be pretty shallow. I hope I'm wrong.

I agree with you. Some of the Pokemon that the starters eventually evolve into can be pretty terrible, but the base designs across all generations are pretty great.

Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network being owned by the same company is something my 10 year old self would never believe.

I don't know if I love the setting of Winds and Waves. Feels like a rehash of Sun and Moon simply based on the trailer. Other than that, I am glad that it's going to be Switch 2 exclusive. Hopefully it looks better and performs better than Scarlet and Violet.

Bend definitely feels like it's on the chopping block next. I also continue to wonder about Media Molecule. Dreams was in the works for a LONG time and never panned out like PlayStation wanted (at least commercially). Really feels like any studio other than Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Housemarque, Santa Monica, and Sucker Punch could be closed and it wouldn't be a surprise.

Juggernaut would actually be so sick. Not sure how I never thought of him before. Would be a fantastic addition to the roster.

Leon can wield a chainsaw in this game so I think that meets your criteria.

Yeah I'm struggling to understand it myself. Sony badly needs to clean house. This current management has no idea what it's doing. They're fortunate that the PS5 continues to sell as well as it does because their first-party lineup this generation has been dismal. Not only was Bluepoint working on a live-service game, but Bend apparently was as well. And now Guerrilla's next Horizon game is live-service, too. We just feel so far gone from the unique and creative ideas that used to consistently come from PlayStation. Bums me out. As far as Bluepoint goes, they were one of the best. Essentially kickstarted the whole remaster trend with the PS3 remasters of God of War 1 and 2. Demon's Souls was also phenomenal. Seems like such an easy route to have them continue making remakes and remasters, but apparently not.

I will absolutely be diving into this next week. My kid loves Pokemon but he's only ever played the ones on Switch. I've been trying to convince him to play some of the older ones and this is the perfect opportunity. We'll both be playing through it together which is very exciting.

We're about one week away from Resident Evil Requiem. Who all is going to be picking it up at launch? And what are you most looking forward to? This is probably my favorite gaming franchise, so I cannot wait to see what surprises are in store.

I still cannot believe we don't have a date, or even a window, for Judas. Feels like it's never coming out at this point.

I've been playing it for review. There's a lot I like, but a lot I also dislike. Combat is the primary thing I'm down on. For a God of War game, the combat mechanics are too basic and boring. Other than that, I've enjoyed the exploration elements. It's good, but nothing special.

Feels like the X-Men have already gotten the most love since launch, but I'd still love to see Cyclops added. I know he's been teased a bit in recent months, so hopefully he becomes playable soon.

Yeah seeing that there are potentially 300 Pokemon in this really surprised me. Didn't expect that at all. Makes me that much more interested in it.

As a God of War fan, I'm pretty darn happy. Looking forward to playing Sons of Sparta this weekend. Also happened to love the Castlevania reveal. Cannot wait for that.

I wanted to love this game but it just did not resonate with me at all. Think I made it to the third route and ended up just giving up. Might try it again one day.

Games like Pokopia usually aren't for me but I'm actually looking forward to it quite a bit. The Ditto element still scares me though.

I feel like this is more likely for later this year. I'd love to be wrong though.

This has been one of my most anticipated games for years as well. Cannot wait to finally see it.

With this week's Nintendo Direct now outta the way, it sounds like we're getting a State of Play from PlayStation next week. What are you hoping shows up? Wolverine feels likely since Insomniac said it would share more early this year. Other than that, I'd love to just see anything new from PlayStation that isn't some rehashed IP. The new Horizon game they announced this week has soured me further on their strategy as a company this generation. I just want to see something fresh.

I'm still wondering what's going on with Elden Ring on Switch 2. Surprised we didn't see that one, too. I have doubts about it running well on Switch 2 but I guess we'll see.

Thought it was a whole lot of okay. Nothing necessarily bad, but I was surprised we didn't hear from some more notable third-party games.

It varies from game to game, but I typically hold off until the 1.0 version drops. My backlog is so extensive that playing something "unfinished" usually isn't that enticing to me.

This actually feels really plausible. I don't think it can be that far away from its release.
