Tha Great Pumpkin

Featured Replies

I make it a point to see The Great Pumpkin every year. The only way I do that is by owning the Dvd of it. It makes upset and disappointed that it was taken of broadcast tv. Now there thousands of children who are missing out on a great show. I am disappointed in whoever in the Peanuts camp thought Apple tv would be a great platform to spread the Peanuts shows. At least when it was on broadcast tv they always made a big deal about it being on. What a shame that such great shows are now limited by streaming.

You’re right. It feels like some of the holiday magic is being replaced by convenience and paywalls. There was something special about everyone gathering at the same time to watch The Great Pumpkin on TV. Now it’s hidden on a streaming service, and kids miss out on that shared excitement. We’ve traded tradition for access, and it’s just not the same. The holidays feel more commercialized every year, and while that’s always been part of it, it seems to be getting worse. It’s up to us as parents to keep those traditions alive.

I always forget that Peanuts is all on Apple TV, It's like the one service I don't always subscribe to.

We always watch Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (the Burl Ives versions) every Christmas, as well as Elf and White Christmas.

We watch those too and always Planes, Trains, and Automobiles for Thanksgiving.
