December 15, 2025Dec 15 CB Team Overall, the CGI was horrendous... But the adult cast kept me interested as weeks went by; they are all great. Still, the biggest complaint I have with the show is its obsession with explaining every detail of the lore and creating connections with the movies. Pennywise is a lot less scary if we know everything about it, and the fact that they are tying its hunting cycle to the Losers' Club bloodlines makes it more predictable, and I feel it works best as a cosmic beast we can't understand.

Skarsgard remains compelling to watch though which is why I don't think it was a total loss, but it gives me a lot of pause over Andy doing Batman in the DCU.
December 15, 2025Dec 15 Your comment is absurd. The fact that you clearly don't understand the premise is what makes it absurd. You should probably start reading books instead of watching TV.
December 15, 2025Dec 15 CB Team I dug it a lot. It was a lot better than it had any right to be. Don't think it was for "King Purists" (Which has always been an oxymoron to me). I think the show did certain things really smartly: Always delivering a horror-moment of the week (those nightmare sequences, or Pennywise attacks) that got people buzzing and generally scared. It roped in big enough mainstream King lore and Easter eggs (like The Shining or character reveals) to make mainstream viewers post theories and discuss throughout. The show earned its merit for weeks with ZERO Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise. When he got in there, a show that people were already into took off crazy. The effects were uneven - but so is literally every Andy Muschietti project (The Flash? HELLO?) The finale added some sci-fi hijinks that not only create more seasons but also potentially a window for a NEW story set AFTER IT, if his "Death" really was just a rebirth. I'll take this kind of big swing at water cooler TV in the horror lane. Duck and cover for Season 2, kiddos!

I definitely have some issues with the show as a whole, but anytime he was on the screen I was hooked.
