Anyone here play D&D or the Marvel Multiverse RPG?

I’m looking to get into tabletop RPGs and was curious how many people here play Dungeons & Dragons or the Marvel Multiverse RPG.

I’ve never played before, but I recently ordered a D&D book and will likely get the Marvel Multiverse RPG book soon. I’m excited to finally start learning. Between comics, movies, and games, it feels like a good time to branch out into RPGs.

I’d love to hear how people got started, what systems you prefer, or any advice you’d give someone brand new.

I haven't had the chance to jump into a game of Marvel Multiverse, but the X-Men expansion and Marvel Rivals inspired mode and character add-on have me hoping I can get to it sometime in 2026.

I love Dungeons & Dragons, but I think Pathfinder can be a bit more friendly to new players in terms of easier access to free versions of the rules. I started with Pathfinder and now play D&D primarily, and it's only occasionally confusing.

As for Marvel Multiverse, I really want to give that one a try. I've watched a few of the actual plays for it with The Glass Cannon Network, and that gives you a pretty good sense of the basic rules and mechanics, which I find helpful for figuring out if I'll like a system.

I had such a good time with a previous group's Pathfinder campaign, and until 5th Edition preferred it to D&D. Have wanted to go back and do another Pathfinder campaign, so maybe next year I can actually make that happen!

I'll look into Pathfinder also, thank you! I'm in a Marvel Multiverse Reddit group and have been talking to people on there, but haven't jumped into it yet. It seems to have a lot of moving parts to learn, but I may grab the book next time I'm in my lcs and give it a try.
