It's Happening! Will You Be Playing Pokemon LeafGreen or FireRed on Switch?

Pokemon decided to let us in on some of the Pokemon Day news early. Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen are officially coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop right after the Pokemon Presents on February 27th. They're priced at $19.99 USD each. Will you be revisiting Kanto? And if so, FireRed? Or LeafGreen?

I always chose Bulbasaur as my starter, so it's a LeafGreen life for me, I think. If I decide to replay them. It depends on what else they throw our way on Pokemon Day for me honestly.

Honestly, I'll wait and see. If feels a bit overpriced if there are no improvements, as this was supposed to be part of the NSO subscription. I'm curious to know how they handle Pokémon HOME integration and if there'll be other perks.

It's definitely cool for fans that don't want to pay the current prices for those old cartridges, but since I have Let's Go Pikachu, I'm not sure I need to make the leap

I will absolutely be diving into this next week. My kid loves Pokemon but he's only ever played the ones on Switch. I've been trying to convince him to play some of the older ones and this is the perfect opportunity. We'll both be playing through it together which is very exciting.

I agree, $20 seems a little steep for just one of the 2 games when they've been around for so long. If it was a bundle of both versions, maybe. I've seen a lot of different chatter about HOME integration so it looks like we might not have that detail until the Presents.

Pokemon LG was my first mainline Pokemon game, so it's deeply nostalgic. Looking forward to playing it again!

I have fond LeafGreen memories as well! Blue was my first, but I was so young that Crystal and LeafGreen are more my early Pokemon memories.

Yeah, I played Let's Go Eevee when I first got my Switch, so going back to Kanto and not having an Eevee from jump might be hard lol.

That's awesome! I hope he loves it!

Yeah, I think Emerald is my favorite, but LG and FR are just sooooo nostalgic.
