March 5Mar 5 Maybe its just the general populace of PvP players, but I was super excited for Arc Raiders. It just seems like that's what everyone is doing and at the end of many days playing them it just sucks.
March 6Mar 6 Might just not be the vibe for you rn, I'm pretty geeked up over Marathon, Arc Raiders, and Tarky, but it's not the same feel as other gun games. There's a built in anxiety to it, coming in with your gear you very easily could lose to any amount of BS, big maps usually with plenty of hiding spots for camping/ratting, it's a lot. I've had to paint my nails to keep them out of my mouth between raids until they come back, but the adrenaline dump you get from wiping a team and taking their stuff keeps me queuing.Nothing wrong with it not being your wave though, Arc Raiders might be super popping rn but other games are far from dead, shoot Age of Mythology, an RTS from like 2 decades ago, still has people in queue. WoW just released a new xpac, Slay The Spire 2 dropped on the same day as Marathon, and if you want an arena shooter Halo and Splitgate still have plenty of people playing. No need to force yourself to play the latest trendy game if it doesnt click, if you feel like you gave it a fair shake and it's not scratching that itch, move on, different strokes yk?
March 6Mar 6 CB Team I'm not big on extraction shooters either. I think the only extraction game in general that I like is Helldivers. I tried Marathon a lot this week and during the server slam, and each time I played I just felt like going back to Battlefield.
March 6Mar 6 CB Team For a minute, it felt like everyone was doing a battle royale, and then it was hero shooters. Now it seems extraction shooters are the big thing, but in each of those waves I did find my one game that I liked and just ended up focusing on that until the next wave hit. I will say extraction shooters, simply due to the nature of the gameplay and whether your run is successful, can lead to a bummer ending more than those others.
